The Campaign of the Belgian Army in 1940 From MGK Military Simulations

''Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you were thinking to yourself lately: 'what I really need is a history of the Belgian Army in 1940 in English' then here is the answer. I have uploaded not one but two translated histories of the Belgian Army. Given that there is no decent history available in English these might be of interest.''

This account of the Belgian Army in the eighteen-day campaign in 1940 has never been translated into English until now. Written in 1966 this book has a broader scope and includes access to German records. It includes excellent maps that track the eighteen-day campaign.

A glaring deficiency in the literature of the Second World War is a detailed history in English of the Belgian Army's experience in the eighteen day campaign in 1940. I eventually came to the conclusion that I would have to translate one myself. Here is one of the two I translated.

Airfix German infantry 1962

One of the early 1/72 WW2 by Airfix. The box pics I found on the web. Re boxed in 1967.

Nostalgia. Where it all began for me. I like them. They are small and quite brittle these days. Daughter picked these figures up at a car boot sale.

The Battle of the Netherlands May 1940

 May '40 Miniatures posted this.

The Battle of Netherlands was part of a German military operation dubbed Fall Gelb through which Hitler conquered the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. During World War II, seizing these lands ensured that Germany would have a buffer zone against Britain and France. Historical records state that it took the German defense forces a period of about seven days (from May 10 to May 17, 1940) to occupy all key cities of the Netherlands.

Mad Bob's Models

Interesting selection of 20mm and 28mm models.

Rubicon Models 1/56

This company looks interesting. Do 1/56th kits and figures that go with 28mm.  I think May '40 miniatures will be stocking them.
