Britains 9732, PAK 38 German field gun

Bought for me by my daughter from Cheddar carboot sale.

The 5 cm Pak 38 was developed in 1938 and approved for mass production in 1939, with first combat use in 1941.

Airfix German infantry 1962

One of the early 1/72 WW2 by Airfix. The box pics I found on the web. Re boxed in 1967.

Nostalgia. Where it all began for me. I like them. They are small and quite brittle these days. Daughter picked these figures up at a car boot sale.

Purnell's History of the Second World War

I had these growing up. A part work from newsagents weekly. My Uncle Arthur worked for Purnell's as a proof reader and got us copies of these. We had all the volumes plus some duplicates.    When we wargamed it in the 70s these were invaluable. They had nice reconstructions but I haven't found any images online. If you have any get in touch.

A typical cover. Very good colour printing for the time 1966

This is what they looked like with their binders

Battle! Charles Grant

These old school wargames rules for ww2 were published in book form in 1970. Copies of this book fetch high prices but fret not. They are available  in magazine form free to download here

we had these rules in the late 70s but we never got around to using them. As my favourite rules are free ones I might use these.

Tanks and other Afvs of the Blitzkrieg era 1939-41

A 1970 publication. If you like a bit of nostalgia with your tanks then this is your book. I am not an expert on tanks but I prefer the early war tanks.
