History Hit - Eben-Emael - The Underground Fortress That Should've Stopped Hitler

 New documentary.

War historian James Rogers explores the massive fortress of Eben-Emael near Liege in Belgium. Covering 750,000 square metres, it was built in the 1930s and designed to stop the German advance into Western Europe. James investigates some of the massive remaining casemates that were packed with massive cannons and the latest in fortress technology. James will also find out about what happened when a group of just 78 German airborne troops landed on the fort in the first hours of Hitler's invasion of the West.
